Collaboration between CarbonEthics, SAMPAN Kalimantan, and FisTx Brings Sustainable Silvofishery to Dabong Village
Building Productive and Environmentally Friendly Aquaculture
FisTx continues to strengthen its commitment to realizing sustainable aquaculture through a 360° Smart Farming approach. This concept combines modern technology, environmentally friendly practices, and comprehensive technical assistance to support pond productivity while preserving the coastal ecosystem.
This commitment is realized through collaboration with CarbonEthics and SAMPAN Kalimantan in a silvofishery program in Dabong Village, West Kalimantan. On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, 458,000 vaname shrimp larvae were released into three rehabilitated community ponds. “FisTx doesn’t just provide technology, but also a comprehensive approach to help farmers adapt to climate and market challenges. This is what we call 360° Smart Farming, a complete solution that combines productivity, conservation, and sustainability,” explained Rico Wibisono, CEO of FisTx.

Integrating Aquaculture and Conservation
Silvofishery is an integrated aquaculture system combined with mangrove forest conservation. Through this model, communities not only reap economic benefits from shrimp ponds, but also help preserve the coastal environment.
For Carbon Ethics, this collaboration is an important milestone. "We at Carbon Ethics are very pleased to have achieved our planned timeline, which was to stock vaname shrimp fry in three program ponds. In the next 3 to 4 months, we will see the results of this program," said Bimo Soewadji, CEO of Carbon Ethics.
Direct Support for Farmers
The farming community also welcomes this collaboration. A. Rahim, one of the beneficiary farmers, said, "Thank you for your cooperation. Hopefully, this activity can be sustainable. We have been managing ponds for more than 20 years, but we have never achieved satisfactory results. We hope this program will not stop here, but will continue. Because in addition to helping us with capital and seeds, this program also gives us new enthusiasm. We want the results to benefit not only us as farmers, but also the village of Dabong as a whole," said Pak Rahim.

FisTx also provides intensive assistance to farmers. Monitoring is carried out both online (weekly meetings) and offline (field visits) to maintain pond quality. “Technical assistance from FisTx has given us more confidence in managing our ponds in a modern way without damaging the environment,” added one of the farmers.
Towards Food Security and Sustainable Aquaculture
FisTx, together with Carbon Ethics and SAMPAN Kalimantan, is targeting Dabong Village as an initial model for modern silvofishery that can be replicated in other areas, particularly in the Kapuas Delta buffer zone. This program will be monitored over the next 3–4 months with the following success indicators: fry survival rate, pond ecosystem quality, and increased farmer income.
This collaboration is a concrete step by FisTx in supporting national food security while preserving the environment. Through a 360° Smart Farming approach, FisTx proves that sustainable aquaculture is not just a concept, but a solution that can be implemented together with the community.
Positive expectations were also expressed by Beni Putra Ramadani, assistant project manager for Sampan Kalimantan and Carbon Ethics. "The hope is that this assistance program, which is also supported by a team of experts from FisTx, can help the community increase economic value, optimize local potential, and encourage environmental improvement and sustainable empowerment. As a result, it will not only improve welfare, but also contribute to reducing emissions and strengthening community resilience."
